What's the "Hypno" bit about?

I know, I know, Hypnobirthing is a pretty crap name.

The bit of feedback I get from clients all the time is, “Why do you call it Hypnobirthing? It’s so much more than that”.

The honest answer? At this point, if I called it anything else, you wouldn’t be here reading this now. You’d never find me on Google!

Think of Hypnobirthing as the optimum mindset for birth, mental and emotional preparation, and a toolkit of tools and techniques for birth.

Seriously though, the “Hypno” part features in two ways.

  1. Unpicking your deepest, most subconscious fears about birth. You know, the ones that brought you to be sitting reading this and you’re not even sure why! By working on those worries, whilst also flooding your mind with (REAL) positive evidence about birth, you can create the optimum mindset that will allow your birth hormones to flow!

  2. Learning how to stay calm! Training your mind to be able to stay in the response system that will support your body and what it needs for birth. I’ll go into exactly why in another post, but this is key to everything! Being deeply relaxed won’t just feel better, it’s actually what your body needs you to do in birth.
